Wood Wallpaper Pack - New Wood by Supuhstar Wood Wallpaper Pack - New Wood by Supuhstar
This is a the first pack of 7 .PNG images, each 2560x1440 (big enough to fit a new iMac). This pack has new wood as a background. They include Apple, Ubuntu, or Windows logo, in Light or Dark Glass. If you do not have a 27" iMac or similar, simply use Stretch, Fill, or a similar style of wallpaper sizing so it fills your screen, but preferably does not distort the image.

This is my first ever try at using 3DS Max c:

14 .PNG files larger than an iMac, what did you expect? you can simply delete the ones you don't want to decrease the size :P

Downscaling, atleast in windows, creates terrible results.
And it looks more like brown colored plastic than wood.

What version of Windows do you have? And wood and plastic are actually very similar in many respects

I know resizing problem exists in win xp. I am on win7 right but I haven't used a wallpaper too big for my screen so I can't tell if win7 does the same or not.

And no, wood and plastic is not similar at all. Even finished wood is not similar to plastic.

Also, in respects of audio, translucency, and, in certain cases, reflectivity, wood and certain plastics are quite similar. However, in texture, malleability, and many other respects, you are correct in your statement that they are dissimilar. Perhaps, though, micro-porous plastic would be a good replica.

It does not. Windows 7 fixed that with its "Fill" technique, which not only utilizes anti-aliasing to make a smooth final image, but also cuts off whatever doesn't fit at the edges, so as to make a perfectly undistorted image.

no need to appologize. :P
It's a large box with a 3DS Max-generatied wood texture as the background. The lights are basic point-emmission lights, spotlight style with a 90-degree spread. In this set, they are on "incandescent" temperature. I used cylinders and boxes as the base primitives for the logos, then reshaped them as necessary. I then made Raytrace-style glass textures for them and rendered it.
